Ministry

Women’s Ministry at CBA Orlando.

I have led the women’s ministry at CBA Orlando for several years now. It has taught me more about faith in practice than any season of my life before it.

How It Started

A Yes I Almost Did Not Give.

I said yes to leading women’s ministry at CBA Orlando during one of the busiest seasons of my life — young children at home, a nursing practice just finding its footing. I have written more about that decision in the journal, because it did not come easily, and I do not think it should have.

What I have found, years into this role, is that the actual work looks less like event planning and more like presence — showing up in hallways after service, answering a midnight text, remembering the anniversary of a loss that most people have forgotten. The retreats and Bible studies matter, but they are the frame, not the picture.

What We Do

The Actual Rhythms of the Ministry.

Weekly Bible Study

A standing gathering where women study Scripture together and, just as often, tell each other the truth about their week.

Retreats

An annual retreat and periodic one-day gatherings — some polished, some held together by prayer and a backyard.

Mentoring

One-on-one relationships with younger women — mothers especially — that go both directions far more than people expect.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior... and so train the young women.
Titus 2:3-4
